About Joseph Silovich, certified group exercise instructor
My road to becoming a personal trainer wasn’t your normal path. I was never what you’d call a “healthy person” in fact I was the complete opposite. When I finally found the courage to step on a scale it read well over 400lbs. I knew that I had to do something. I had tried diets a hundred times before and failed just as many but still I tried again. This time it stuck. Over the next two years I lost over 150lbs. There were a lot of ups and downs along the way but I kept moving forward knowing I could never go back to the way things were.
The more I exercised the more I fell in love with it. My body had been my prison for so long that seeing it change was the most incredible thing to me. I had been barely able to stand up when I started but now I could run up mountains. It was then that I decided to try and make this a career. I left my office job soon after that and have never looked back.
My goal in this business isn’t just to tell people how to lift weights the right way. I want to help people find a way to fall in love with working out. Everyone is different and that means finding the thing that works best for them. My favorite thing in the world is seeing people being successful along their paths to whatever they want to be. Hopefully my journey can help them along theirs and make their road just a little bit easier.
